About the Library

The Hiawatha Public Library opened its new building on February 9, 1998.

The Metro Library Network, established in July 1999, is a cooperative effort between Cedar Rapids, Marion, and Hiawatha Public Libraries in which the three libraries share a combined catalog and circulation system. Library cards from each library are honored at the other libraries. A Metro Library Network card is also available. Materials may be returned to any of the three libraries and branches, as well as area Hy-Vee stores.

The Library Board of Trustees meets the 1st Tuesday of each month @7:00 p.m. in the Hiawatha Public Library meeting room.
