Friends of the Hiawatha Public Library

The Friends of the Hiawatha Public library is a volunteer organization dedicated to the support of our local library. There are Friends groups supporting libraries all over the United States in addition to Civic library Boards.

As a member of Friends, you will be making a contribution to the future of our community. The money raised by Friends, in memberships and book sales, is used to enhance the local library' s budget to support numerous extra activities. Your important membership contribution will help the library fund the following activities:

  • Children's programs-prizes for reading, craft supplies, year-end celebrations, etc.
  • Adult programs-prizes, refreshments, etc.
  • Speakers to the library-funds to bring speakers and refreshment
  • Additional DVDs and
  • Patron request books
